Our 2005-2006 Season: Mainstage
Set in 19th century Victorian England, this spine-tingling, psychological thriller revolves around the mysterious happenings in the Manningham household. Objects begin to disappear and gas lights begin dimming on their own. Questions from Scotland Yard spin a web of distrust and deceit, leading the frail Mrs. Manningham to wonder if she is going mad, or are the controlled intentions of her suave husband actually a sinister plot of social-climbing greed and betrayal? Adapted into a 1944 film version, entitled Gaslight (starring Ingrid Bergman), the original 1941 Broadway production starred Vincent Price and captivated audiences for over three years.
